David Girsh
I've spent years shooting wildlife, conservation stories, travel and events across the Pacific and beyond. I've worked with tourism boards, NGOs and led photography workshops in the Philippines and Tonga.
Now I'm bringing that experience to Margaret River. Small groups, real locations, no fluff. Just you, your camera, and some of the best light in Western Australia.
What's On Offer

Coming SoonHow the Day Runs
We meet at the first location and get straight into it. Camera settings, light and composition, then out shooting immediately. No death by PowerPoint.
Move to a new spot and go deeper. Natural light, movement, finding the moment. We review each other's shots on location with practical feedback.
A proper sit down lunch at a local Margaret River winery. Good food, good wine, relaxed conversation. This is part of the experience, not just a break.
Shoot around the winery grounds and vineyard. Rows of vines, warm light building, portraits using the landscape. Everything from earlier in the day comes together here.
The best light of the day. Soft, warm and directional. This is what we've been building toward. Shoot until the sun goes down.
Move inside to a comfortable space at the winery. Review the day's best shots together, go through basic editing, everyone leaves with their favourites selected. If the weather turns at any point, we have this space as our base.
Schedule note: The day's timing may shift slightly depending on weather and light conditions. Margaret River winter light is worth chasing and we'll adjust the plan to make the most of it.
Transport: Travel between locations is independent. Each participant makes their own way to each spot. Directions and meeting points will be shared ahead of the day.
